Thoughts, Prior to the Day

4 weeks to the start

Car on route somewhere in south Atlantic,  can only assume right now its safe and sound in the belly of a ship. Just checked the list and I am super happy to see 14 women registered to participate in this rally of about 70 overalll  participants  in what looks like a real challenge, in more ways than one. It certainly is well named. We have been warned of some of the trials and tribulations of the road but in further reading into Indian life and what to expect in the outreaches of small communities and cultural issues, it will be good to share some of these unique experiences with the same sex.

Culture, Hygiene and just being a woman may have it’s challenges in a male dominated society. Time will tell. Normal western clothing, walking alone may not cut it in rural places and finding private Loos could also present some issues. The organizers on site and pre rally trail blazers I noted were all male. Ummm !

Like Peking to Paris and other races we all became quite adept and creative and resolving these personal things. I expect no less going forward . Great to see so many old faces from previous events, will be good to catch up. As a group the finishers of the Peking to Paris bonded really well and I think it is safe to say we have followed each other’s exploits over the years and are ready to get going

So other than being a few -Haha-  years older and  having a new addition to our family, we have a good sense of each other and  will bond into a supportive group.
