Our first whirlwind trip to England to check her out, was May 2nd we had 5 days to acclimatize to 8 hour time change buy needed items and check out the car on some rough roads. Car looks good
Arrived London at 11:30 am at the Priory by 1:00pm 0n the road by 3 . Driving straight north, lots of old Roman roads and head for rough riding.
Head for Oxford for our first night, there are a few good restaurants we like to eat at but alas all sold out so had to try another new one.
Half decent sleep and ready to go……!
OH dear car wont start, Tony's head under the bonnet. No big deal it was minor and off we go.. This is our dusting off or shaking out, final attempt to see if anything will fall off.
New tires, extra tires- our biggest nemesis in Peking to Paris was flats so must try everything to alleviate that problem going forward. Roads will be rough in India. I hear lots of POT HOLES.
Drive through York, what a city and so much history, lots of fun driving down narrow streets, but nothing challenging, so much to see and do. Next town.
On to the Lake District National park and Yorkshire Dales National Park

The Dales was one of our stomping grounds last time. We did test drives for Peking to Paris (www.pekingtoparis.net) and the signs show you just how much they test the car. Rough terrain and climbing albeit short stints.
Good test of roads to come.
Back to Priory pushed the car pretty hard, 685 miles over hill and dale so to speak.
